Ohio Lab

They are one of the few medical cannabis cultivators in the state of Ohio and wanted to expand into manufacturing (extraction) and edible production.

Problem statement

The Client was awarded a conditional manufacturing license for medical cannabis products in the state of Ohio and had 6 months to start operations but they didn't have the expertise, team or time to implement design, equipment selection, SOP’s, formulations, hire and train the team.

Proposed Solution & Architecture

At Whole Grow we realized the client didn't have time to do this alone but wanted to stay in control, so we decided to educate the Client's team on how to make quick decisions using first-hand knowledge about industry processes. After an initial discovery session, we realized an aggressive project plan needs to be put in place that focuses on budget and a strict schedule. We determined that the most critical decision to be made was regarding the extraction method and desired products. For that we created a simplified comparative approach where we showed the entire system of machinery for Ethanol, CO2, BHO and Solventless.

Results from the solution

WG was able to deliver its services on a very tight timeline of six months allowing the client to receive their permanent manufacturing license, and launching their product lines successfully. The customer was able to increase their operation from cultivation to extraction in CO2 and Solventless and create an edible line with a commercial kitchen. This ambitious project allowed Firelands to diversify their product portfolio, and expand their brand presence throughout the state of Ohio.
